SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police look for suspects considered armed and dangerous in a stabbing Wednesday evening.
At about 8:20 p.m. police responded to a reported stabbing in the area of W. 12th Street and S. Grange Avenue.
Officers pursued a vehicle reported to be occupied by the suspects. The vehicle crashed near the intersection of W. 9th Street and S. Western Avenue, striking a railroad crossing sign.
The occupants of the vehicle fled and entered a nearby residence. The unassociated occupants of the house left the residence as the occupants of the suspect vehicle entered the home. The Sioux Falls Police Department SWAT Team responded as the suspects were believed to be armed with a firearm and knife, barricading themselves in the residence.
A search of the residence was completed and the suspects were not located.
During the investigation, detectives were able to establish a person of interest in the stabbing who was believed to be with at least one other unidentified female. This person of interest, JERIUS JOSIAH SWIFTEAGLE, 18 years old, should be considered armed and dangerous and the public should not approach him.
