U.S. Rep. Jim Hagedorn (R-Minn.)
WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO.com) — Minnesota Congressman Jim Hagedorn votes down the bi-partisan bill H.R. 8015 (The Delivering for America Act) after blasting Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats for what he calls a “baseless conspiracy theory”.
In a press release, Hagedorn attacked the bill that would prohibit the Postal Service (USPS) from approving any change to its operations that would reduce or impede prompt service. The bill also would require USPS to reverse any policies that delay the processing of the mail. The congressman called the motivations behind the bill an attempt to deteriorate the American people’s confidence in the fair elections system, calling Speaker Pelosi’s actions despicable.
Democrats have accused the Trump administration and Post Master General Louis DeJoy of undermining the role of the postal service during election times and fostering operational changes that have adversely affected mail delivery for Americans. The bill passed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 257-170.
