SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Governor Kristi Noem has launched a new program to re-train South Dakota workers forced out of jobs by COVID-19.
‘UpSkill’ will offer 22 online certification programs in high-demand fields, ranging from health care to manufacturing.
“For those looking for a new career path as we get back to normal, UpSkill is here to help you,” says Noem, “this educational program will provide a clear pathway to stable careers.”
UpSkill starts this fall at the state’s four technical colleges, including Southwest Technical in Sioux Falls.
State officials say there is expected to be little or no cost.
