SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls is holding its own in the fight against the coronavirus.
“We’ve been fortunate that we have stayed very steady with our COVID rates, despite being able to get out and about,” City Health Director Jill Franken updates Kelo Radio’s It’s Your Business Show with Bill Zortman, “We’ve seen very little in increases in our rates. Our hospitalizations are staying really steady.”
Franken favorably compares Sioux Falls to other parts of the country where COVID-19 cases have been spiking.
She says residents must be doing a good job with social distancing and other safety measures even as the city continues to steadily re-open the local economy.
Franken doesn’t want residents to let down their guards just because COVID-19 is holding steady locally. She says if you are out and social distancing is not possible, you should wear a face mask.
