SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — We’ve all heard of news stories where a dog bites a person. This time it’s a dog biting another dog.
Last night around 7:30 a man was in his yard near West 37th Street and South Prairie Avenue with his two small dogs, a Yorkie/Maltese mix and a Pomeranian.
Another man was walking by on the sidewalk with a boxer-type dog on a leash.
The Pomeranian approached the boxer-type dog and they sniffed at each other. The boxer-type dog then grabbed the Pomeranian with its mouth and picked it up, leaving injuries to the dog.
The boxer-type dog was dark grey or brown and was wearing a darker collar and a harness with some red coloring on it. The dog’s owner was described as a white male approximately 6 feet tall with dark cropped hair. The man was wearing a white t-shirt, dark cargo shorts, and tennis shoes.
The boxer’s owner did stop and spoke briefly with the Pomeranians owner and then walked eastbound on the north side of West 37th Street.
Animal Control needs to identify the dog in this incident to verify its vaccinations. If you have any information on this case, please call Animal Control at 367-7000.
