SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A new survey says South Dakota is the 8th most independent state in the nation.
WalletHub compared the 50 states across 39 metrics, which measure how dependent Americans are on the government and other people for finances, their jobs and personal vices.
Minnesota was the 4th most independent according to the survey.
Nebraska was the 10th most independent.
Wallethub ranks Utah as the most independent, Kentucky the least.
