The U.S. Senate votes tomorrow on a Republican police reform bill.
Senate Democrats say they will block it.
Senator John Thune is displeased with that approach.
“The Democrats are going to let us know, I think, in pretty clear terms, whether they are interested in working with us to get a solution, a meaningful solution to this challenging problem we have as a country,” Thune said.
He says the Democratically controlled House–including Speaker Nancy Pelosi–would like to get their measure and the Republican measure into a conference committee.
“I would hope the Democrats would come to the conclusion that it is in their best interest and the American people’s best interest to get a solution, to solve this problem,” Thune said.
Thune spoke to a media gaggle in the Capitol today and posted part of his comments on his Twitter account.
