SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A young adult has been arrested and charged after authorities alleged the suspect assaulted someone, then dragged an arresting police officer behind their vehicle in an attempt to flee.
In the early morning hours of June 20, Sioux Falls Police responded to the call of a disturbance and assault at a downtown Holiday Inn. Authorities say in an attempt to turn off the vehicle a responding officer reached into the car. It’s then reported that the suspect rolled up their window trapping the police officer’s arm then drove off dragging the officer.
Authorities were able to get the vehicle stopped and take the driver into custody. Charges are pending for the driver. None of the arresting officers involved were injured. Information on the driver has not been released due to the driver’s juvenile status.
