SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Saturday march in support of Black Lives Matters is purportedly by a Facebook group called “South Dakota People’s March.”
They have an event listed on Facebook that says the rally will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday along Minnesota Avenue from 41st Street to 33rd Street. Organizers had first said it would be held at McKennan Park.
They say the event will be peaceful and do not want anyone involved who plans to incite violence or to destroy property.
Police Chief Matt Burns says the police have been in touch with the organizers about obtaining a permit and the process has started.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police say they’ve heard about another possible George Floyd rally in Sioux Falls Saturday.
But that’s about all they know.
Police spokesman Sam Clemens says the organizers haven’t contacted the department yet.
He says the department supports free speech but wants to make sure the event is safe for everyone.
Clemens says the department will keep trying to contact the rally organizers.
He says they will need to apply for a free demonstration permit.
