SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Street construction update:
Lane Shift – 26th Street
Beginning on Thursday, June 4, 2020, traffic will be moved to the south side of East 26th Street between I-229 and Southeastern Avenue. There will continue to be one lane of traffic in each direction for eastbound and westbound traffic. The on and off-ramp movements on I-229 will remain the same. Southeastern Avenue south of 26th Street will be open.
Beginning on Thursday, June 4, 2020, the river will be closed to all water sports under the bridge. Construction crews will begin demolishing the old bridge deck and piers. This closure is anticipated to be approximately five weeks. The bike trail will remain open.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
