SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Street construction update:
Street Closure – Russell Frontage
Beginning on Thursday, May 21, 2020, the intersection of Bailey Street and the Russell Street Frontage Road will be closed to allow crews to install a water main. Access will be maintained to businesses through the frontage road accesses at Prairie Avenue and West Avenue.
This is the next phase of a project to reconstruct Bailey Street between West Avenue and Main Avenue. Improvements will include upgrading the water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, accessible curb ramps, and asphalt surfacing.
This work is anticipated to be completed in approximately two days.
The project is anticipated to be complete by November 2020.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Lane Closures – 57th Street
Beginning on Thursday, May 21, 2020, the westbound lanes of west 57th Street will be closed between Minnesota Avenue and Isabel Place to allow crews to reconstruct and resurface 57th Street. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction in the eastbound lanes.
This work is anticipated to be complete in the fall of 2020.

Lane Closure – Minnesota Avenue
Beginning on Friday, May 22, 2020, the outside northbound lane of South Minnesota Avenue will be closed between 39th Street and 43rd Street to allow construction crews to replace the accessible curb ramps. Access will be maintained to side streets during this work.
This is the next phase of a project to upgrade the ADA accessible curb ramps and sidewalk at select intersections along the Minnesota Avenue corridor.
Work at this location is anticipated to be complete in approximately one week.
