SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Governor Kristi Noem’s COVID-19 executive order for the Sioux Falls area scheduled to end Monday, May 11, will not be extended.
The order directed people over 65 or with chronic health conditions to stay home in Minnehaha and Lincoln Counties, coronavirus hotspots.
Noem says that after talking with state and local officials, it’s appropriate to let the order lapse, but she’ll revisit the issue if necessary.
Those sensitive groups covered by the Noem order should still use social distancing and other safety measures when they are out in public.
