PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — According to the South Dakota Department of Health, coronavirus cases increased by 97 since yesterday (Sunday).
That brings the total to 3,614.
Active cases increased by 57 to 1,393.
The death toll remains at 34 South Dakotans.
Around 4,000 people were tested last week in Sioux Falls in preparation for the opening of the Smithfield pork packing plant.
The department says 803 of the 853 Smithfield workers who were infected have recovered and 236 of the 245 close contacts have also recovered.
