SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls School District has been staying in contact with parents and students by email.
Here is the email from 5/7/20:
Hello, Sioux Falls School District Staff and Families – We haven’t crossed the finish line yet, but we can see the end to this very unusual year in sight!
+ Wednesday, May 20, 2020, is the last student day. If you haven’t heard from your school yet, you will be getting instructions about how to drop-off technology and pick-up personal items. Each building has developed a plan that works for that school. Please read those messages closely to ensure this process goes as smoothly as possible.
+ Today, parents/guardians received an email reminding you to complete the required Online Registration for your child for the fall. Completing this information now allows us to plan for your child throughout the summer, assigning them to classrooms and teachers, etc. We sent this information out today so families who don’t have technology at home can complete the online registration while they still have the student’s Chromebook. Please complete this important task.
+ Middle and high school families received information regarding physical evaluations for students who participate in activities. Please also read that information closely. Health care providers have indicated it is safe for families to schedule well-checks for children, including required immunizations and activities physicals. Contact your medical provider for an appointment.
+ SFSD staff continues to evaluate the changing ordinances from the city and adjusts safety plans for all staff working in the schools and those delivering meals and supplies by buses. We are in constant contact with the City and State Health Department to ensure our actions are appropriate.
+ The second of five Community Engagement Meetings on school boundaries is Saturday, May 9 at 10am. Check the website 24-hours in advance of the virtual meeting for more information about how to connect via livestream or conference call.
+ We hope you have taken an opportunity this week to reach out to teachers and school nurses who we are celebrating with Teacher Appreciation Week and Nurse Appreciation Week. All members of these professions have had to adjust and respond to changes as a result of the coronavirus.
We are grateful to have the Best of the Best on staff in the SFSD!
+ ProudToBeSFSD!
