SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken is begging you to please wear a mask to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.
“The mask has become the symbol of freedom. And it’s so dumb to me,” TenHaken said. “It’s like listen if it’s that much work to wear a mask–not for you but for other people–just be selfless. It doesn’t take a lot of work.”
He said you would be protecting people in grocery stores and other venues by wearing a mask.
TenHaken wore as a mask during today’s special City Council meeting where the body passed an ordinance loosening the “no linger” ordinance.
He also said he’s not a Republican or Democrat mayor but a mayor for the city. TenHaken is a registered Republican but the Sioux Falls city council and Mayor run on a non-partisan basis.
