PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Easter Sunday saw over 100 new cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota, bringing the total to 730 cases in the state.
Minnehaha County has the most with 527 total cases, according to the South Dakota Department of Public Health.
Of that total, 293 are associated with the Smithfield Foods pork processing plant in Sioux Falls.
197 people have recovered from the virus.
There have been 1,621 confirmed cases in Minnesota, with 842 no longer needing hospitalization according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
According to the Iowa Department of Public Health, the state now has 1,587 confirmed cases. that’s up 77 from the day before.
The spike was accompanied by 7 additional deaths bringing that total to 41.
674 Iowans have recovered.
