PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) – Governor Noem announced today that the physical campuses of all schools in the state will remain closed for the rest of the academic year.
As the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota increases, the state’s four technical colleges will continue to provide course delivery online through the remainder of the semester.
Per Governor Noem’s guidance, all four campuses will continue to be closed to the public through at least May 31, 2020. The graduation ceremonies at all four institutions will be adjusted, with further details shared as decisions are finalized.
The technical colleges are establishing plans for the summer 2020 semester. Individual institutions will continue sending pertinent information directly to their students, faculty, and staff. Please refer to their news releases and websites for additional details.
The measure impacts Lake Area Technical Institute (Watertown), Mitchell Technical Institute (Mitchell), Southeast Technical Institute (Sioux Falls), and Western Dakota Technical Institute (Rapid City).
