PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is ordering more restrictions on movement in the state as COVID-19 virus numbers continue to rise.
Today, the governor announced she has signed an executive order that impacts people 65 and older, and people with chronic medical conditions who live in Minnehaha and Lincoln counties.
The order will be in place through the end of April.
Noem says the executive order isn’t a request.
South Dakota has seen a total of 288 COVID-19 cases; 164 of those have been in Minnehaha and Lincoln counties that are now under the governor’s executive order.
