SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls’ forecast:
The short taste of Spring on Wednesday will be replaced by Winter on Thursday, as a storm moves in and persists through at least part of Friday.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms this evening will transition to more widespread light rain later in the night. Freezing rain will also be developing west of the James River.
A wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, and rain will progress eastward on Thursday and Thursday night, depositing ice accumulations up to two-tenths of an inch.
As the system finally moves out on Friday, snowfall amounts up to around two inches will be possible.
Beware that icing could impact power lines, cause minor tree damage, and make travel difficult.
