SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken is trying to toughen restrictions on social gatherings, but he’s “ticked off” about the loopholes.
TenHaken’s proposed ordinance would limit customers at bars, restaurants and other such businesses to under ten, so-called non-essential places. But grocery stores are not included.
The Mayor says some people are taking unfair advantage of it.
“Their kids get cabin fever and they’re going to Walmart with the family. You don’t need to take your five kids to Wal-mart. You don’t need to take your whole family to Hy-Vee.”
TenHaken doesn’t want your trips to the grocery to turn into field trips that undercut social distancing.
