SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls School District has reached out to students and family via email to keep them updated. More information should be coming soon concerning remote learning for every student.
Community Relations Supervisor DeeAnn Konrad sent the following email yesterday, March 17:
+ Today, SD Governor Kristi Noem announced that all schools in South Dakota would be closed for another week.
+ SFSD will now be closed through Friday, March 27, 2020.
+ Given this information, staff continues to work on remote learning for every student. Watch for more information coming soon!
+ We are pleased to see families using the non-graded enrichment options we sent in yesterday’s message. As of 3:30pm today, the resources have been accessed 3,037 times! https://www.smore.com/y3dx5 We plan to add new resources regularly.+ SFSD served 741 lunches today at our six identified schools. ALL students can take advantage of the free meal no matter their lunch status: full pay, reduced, free. Every child can get a FREE meal and breakfast for the following day. During Wednesday’s distribution, students will also receive a meal that can be used for lunch on Thursday (SFSD was planning to be closed Thursday and Friday).
+ 211 is a great resource for those who need help or want to provide it!
During this time away from school, enjoy some fresh air. Get regular exercise. Be a good neighbor and help where you can. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
