PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — Governor Kristi Noem has confirmed the first Covid-19 death in South Dakota.
This is one of the earlier of the ten cases now in the state, but it wasn’t clear until now that the death was directly caused by the disease.
“My heart certainly goes out to this family during this very difficult time. I also want to let them know that we are thinking and praying for them.”
The victim was a resident of Pennington County, but died in Davison County.
