SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls School District is canceling “all non-essential activities” starting at 4 p.m. today until further notice.
This is because the district wants to help limit the spread of the coronavirus.
There will be a followup message to parents from the district at 1 p.m. today and a news conference with District officials at 1:45 p.m.
Below is the message emailed to SFSD parents and guardians today:
In order to help limit the spread of COVID-19, the Sioux Falls School District is suspending all non-essential activities beginning at 4 pm today until further notice. This includes the Community Engagement Meeting scheduled for this evening at 5:30 pm at Memorial Middle School. This will impact many school activities, school volunteers, and public engagement. Kids Inc. and the middle school YMCA after school program will continue as normal. We will have a follow-up message with more details and specific cancellations by 1 pm today.
