SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — At 3:13 Saturday morning, Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was dispatched to a report of a fire at 919 ½ E. 8th St. Initial reports were that visible smoke and flames were coming from the rear of the building.
The first arriving crew confirmed flames near the entrance to the apartment at the back of the structure.
They were able to confirm all personnel had safely exited the structure.
The fire was mostly contained to the outside of the structure and extinguished within 5 minutes of arrival.
The adjoining businesses received limited smoke and fire damage.
Two pets were successfully rescued from the structure.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 20 personnel, 5 fire trucks, and 3 support vehicles.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
