BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO.com) — South Dakota State University has plans in place to deal with the possible spread of the coronavirus and has already taken preventative steps.
Among the measures taken, the canceling of all international student trips. That had an immediate impact.
That will affect about 200 students through spring and summer. Mike Adelaine, Vice-President for Technology and Security at SDSU, says they’re working with those students to try to find alternatives to international travel.
Adelaine says they’ve been making plans since late January. He says they put out a couple of notices to students this week, many of whom will be traveling for Spring Break after classes end today.
He says they’re also making plans for post-spring break as students return from various locations.
Adelaine says they’ll follow NCAA guidelines when it comes to sanctioned activities and athletics.
