PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — The weekly report on new flu cases has dropped in South Dakota for the first time this flu season:
State Epidemiologist Josh Clayton hopes it means flu season has peaked.
“This may be a short term thing. We might still see some continued activity, but it’s at least a good first sign..”
Dr. Clayton tells Kelo Radio’s It’s Your Business Show with Bill Zortman that the second half of the flu season is yet to come.
There have been over 7,500 confirmed flu cases in South Dakota this season. There have been some deaths. But the latest weekly report gives some hope that the season may be peaking.
Clayton again reminds everybody to get a flu shot if they haven’t already.
