SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Better Business Bureau says phone scammers are using the contentious 2020 election as an opportunity to steal people’s money.
The BBB says reports on its Scam Tracker show people pretending to work for political candidates and asking for campaign donations over the phone. They then ask for the caller’s credit card number and use it to steal their identity.
The Bureau says to be careful screening your calls as the election heats up.
