HARTFORD, S.D. (KELO.com) — A woman out walking her dog was hit and killed by a vehicle in Hartford Monday night.
Minnehaha County Sherif’s Captain Josh Phillips says the driver has been charged with vehicular homicide and DWI. He says alcohol played a part.
The victim is 41-year-old Nicole Anderson of Hartford.
Jailed is Micah Giebler, also of Harford. Captain Phillips says Giebler himself called in the accident.
It was a poorly lighted area where the woman was walking near Main and South St. in Hartford, so the sheriff’s department is hoping to interview witnesses that may have seen something.
