SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Firefighters battle frigid temperatures and slippery conditions in a garage fire Thursday evening.
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at 3311 West Mulberry Street Thursday evening at 6:20.
Initial reports were of a vehicle on fire inside a garage. Upon arrival, heavy smoke and flames were coming from an attached garage.
The home received minor smoke damage, but the garage area and two vehicles inside the garage sustained heavy fire and smoke damage.
Firefighters had the flames under control in about 10 minutes after arriving.
There were no injuries in the incident.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire at approximately 6:20 pm on Thursday night. Initial reports to 9-1-1 Metro Communications stated there was a vehicle on fire inside a garage. Upon arrival, fire units encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from an attached garage. The homeowner was home at the time of the fire and self-evacuated with no injuries. The home sustained minor smoke damage but the garage area and two vehicles inside the garage sustained heavy fire and smoke damage. Firefighters battled frigid temperatures and slippery conditions and had the flames under control in approximately 10 minutes after arrival. The cause of the fire is still under investigation
Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with four fire apparatus, twenty-one firefighters, and three support vehicles. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was assisted by Metro Communications, SFPD, Patient Care Ambulance, SF Public Works, MidAmerican Energy, and XCEL Energy.
