SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Regional Airport hopes to build a $27 million, four-story parking garage in 2022.
Airport Manager Dan Letellier says airport demand keeps growing, notably last year.
“We do expect two to three percent growth every year, so to have close to 10 percent was a pretty huge jump,” and Letellier says the new year is starting equally strong.
Letellier says this is the largest single project ever at the airport. The parking garage will have a capacity for over 1,000 vehicles. It will be built directly over the airport’s short-term parking lot in front of the terminal.
The parking garage could have a skywalk connecting it to the terminal.
Right now, the airport is in the process of bidding the design work.
