SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Sioux Falls man was convicted of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and was sentenced on February 3, 2020, by U.S. District Judge Karen E.Schreier. Kok Put Kach, “Cookie”, age 35, was sentenced to 10 years in custody, followed by 5 years of supervised release.
Kach was indicted for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance by a federal grand jury on November 6, 2018. He pled guilty on July 2, 2019. Beginning on an unknown date and continuing through on or about October 2018, in the District of South Dakota and elsewhere, Kach and JamesAyur Garang, a.k.a “Ayur,” and a.k.a “Mike”, did knowingly and intentionally conspire, with others to knowingly and intentionally distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Co-defendant, James Ayur Garang, a.k.a “Ayur,” and a/k/a “Mike”, was sentenced to 10 years in custody and 5 years of supervised release. Garang was indicted for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance by a federal grand jury on November 6, 2018. He pled guilty on September 5, 2019.
