PEDESTRIAN’S NAME RELEASED
Sioux Falls Police release the name of the pedestrian killed earlier this week.
He is Marvin Roy Thorton, 69, from Sioux Falls.
Police say speed is not a factor in their investigation.
They say a nearby building’s security camera captured the incident.
LOTS OF VEHICLE THEFTS IN JANUARY
Sioux Falls Police report a large spike in the number of vehicle thefts in the city in January.
Officer Sam Clemens says there were 89 vehicles stolen last month.
In January 2019, that number was 46.
Clemens says all of the vehicles stolen in January were unlocked.
77 had their keys in them and 28 were running.
Clemens reminds drivers to lock your vehicle so it isn’t so easy for the bad guys to steal your car.
