DES MOINES, I.A. (KELO.com) — The Iowa Department of Public Health took to social media to clear up rumors going around.
The department posted this message on Facebook: there are no cases of novel coronavirus in Iowa. It’s important to know that there are seven coronaviruses that infect humans – four of them are common and most people will get one or more in their lives – they usually cause symptoms like a cold. The novel coronavirus (the one associated with China) has not been confirmed in Iowa and the risk to Iowans is currently low.
The CDC website says symptoms for the novel coronavirus are runny nose, headache, cough, sore throat, and fever.
