SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Thousands are heading to Sioux Falls for the annual Sioux Empire Livestock show this week.
The event, held each year at the W. H. Lyon Fairgrounds and other locations in Sioux Falls, is expected to attract 2,500 producers and 25,000 visitors. The show starts Tuesday evening and runs through Saturday.
“It’s a great opportunity to highlight the agri-business in the Sioux Falls area,” said event chairman Derek Little. “This show has been a mainstay for a long time.”
Organizers say they’re particularly excited about this year’s educational seminars.
“We have a great lineup of information that everyone should be able to grab something from this week and take home,” said Holly Rader, the Agri-Business Division Manager with the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce.
Rader and Little appeared on KELO’s It’s Your Business Monday (full interview here). Rader said watching young people experience the show is one of her favorite parts of the event.
“The future of agriculture depends on individuals like these youth exhibitors that come from all over the nation, and it’s pretty exciting that our business community gets to come together and be a part of something so big and grand in their lives,” Rader said.
Little also appeared on KELO’s Forum program with Jon Michaels; listen to the full interview here.
