SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) -You can travel again in parts of southeastern South Dakota. Road conditions have improved in some areas. I-29 has been upgraded to snow, ice and slippery from Highway 18 south to the Iowa border….as have the following roads: Highway 81 from Yankton to 42; Highway 44 from Parkston to 19; and the highways are snow ice and slippery throughout all of Bon Homme, Yankton, Clay, and Union Counties.
But don’t plan on going shopping in Mitchell or Sioux Falls today. From Tripp north to Mitchell on Hwy 37, no travel is advised. No travel is advised on any road into Sioux Falls, and besides the exceptions listed above, no travel is advised at this time anywhere in our coverage area.
I-90 is still closed from Sioux Falls to Mitchell and I-29 is still shut down from Sioux Falls to Grand Forks.
*UPDATE ———————–
The South Dakota Department of Transporation has announced I-29, between I90-Exit 84 and US14-Brookings-Exit 132 is now reopened.
