SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Contractors poured lots of cement this week on the City’s new main wastewater pump station this week.
How much cement? 870 cubic feet. It took 14 hours with a cement truck dumping its thick and sticky payload every nine minutes.
The new station will replace the existing 40-year-old Brandon Road Pump Station, which handles approximately 90 percent of the city’s wastewater. When completed, the new pump station will handle 65 million gallons of wastewater per day, with a capacity of 90 million gallons.
The City says the $24.4 million facility will be finished in the fall of 2021.
