SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Fire Rescue is investigating a garage fire that occurred Sunday morning.
Fire crews responded to a residential fire in the 5500 block of West Abby Lane.
The home’s residents were outside the dwelling as firefighters arrived. Firefighters quickly put out the fire but stayed for an hour to make sure the fire had not spread into the home.
No one was hurt.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota: On January 12, 2020, at approximately 10:21 a.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was dispatched to a report of a residential fire in the 5500 block of West Abbey Ln. Initial reports were that a garage was on fire. The first-arriving crew reported that they could see smoke, but no flames coming from the garage. The home’s residents were outside upon the first crew’s arrival. Fire crews extinguished the fire inside the garage and checked for fire extension inside the house. Crews were able to have the fire under control within three minutes on scene. Firefighters continued to work for approximately one hour after the fire, to remove smoke and ensure extinguishment.
There were no injuries reported from either occupants or responders. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with four fire trucks, three support vehicles, and 18 firefighters.
