FLANDREAU, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Renner, S.D. man has been identified as the person who died in a fatal crash Saturday morning on Interstate 29 west of Flandreau.
Kasper Malsam, 60, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his pickup onto the interstate’s southbound lanes.
He was struck by an SUV and pronounced dead at the scene.
An 11-year-old female passenger in the pickup received minor injuries.
Thomas Sterzinger of Taunton, MN, the 54-year-old male driver of the SUV, was not injured.

FLANDREAU, S.D. (KELO.com) — One man is dead after a fatal crash Saturday morning on Interstate 29 west of Flandreau.
A pickup pulling a trailer was northbound on I-29 when it hit a patch of ice and rolled onto the median.
The driver of the pickup was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the pickup and struck by a southbound SUV.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 11-year-old passenger of the pickup received minor injuries.
The driver of the SUV was not injured.
Both were wearing seat belts.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
