SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) –The lights are temporarily dark at a Sioux Falls movie theatre.
A fire broke out in a rooftop heating unit early Sunday morning at West Mall 7.
A maintenance crew was on hand when the fire broke out and reported it immediately.
The Sioux Falls Fire Department responded rapidly and minimized the damage.
The theatre will be closed for the next day or two for cleaning.
No one was injured.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota: At approximately 6:14 this morning. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was dispatched to 2101 W. 41st St. for a report of a structure fire. While responding, units were notified that there was smoke and flames from the roof and interior of the structure reported by employees. A second alarm assignment was requested given initial reports, as well as the size and complexity of the building. Units arrived on the scene to gather some information from employees on the location of the fire. Initial units encountered smoke and were able to investigate the possible source and perform extinguishment after approximately 10 minutes. Other units encountered a burned rooftop heating, ventilation, and air conditioning unit on the roof. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no civilian or responder injuries. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 8 fire trucks and 4 support vehicles, and 37 personnel. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue would like to thank the Sioux Falls Police Department, PatientCare EMS, MidAmerican Energy, and Xcel Energy for their assistance. Sioux Falls Fire rescue wishes to remind residents and business owners to check for working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and practice escape plans.
