SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police seized more methamphetamine in 2019 than any other year on record, according to Mayor Paul TenHaken.
TenHaken says the city broke 2018’s record of 56 pounds by a significant amount, though the exact number has not yet been released.
“You can look at that two ways. You can say there’s more of it out there, but you can also say we’re getting more of it off the streets,” TenHaken said. “I’m a glass-half-full guy on that.”
The mayor added that “you only need a couple of large busts to skew the numbers,” and thanked the work of the city’s narcotics crimes unit and drug task force.
