SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Authorities are investigating an incident near a hotel in southwest Sioux Falls.
Police responded to a report of a weapons violation in the area of the Red Rock Inn around 10 p.m. Sunday.
A male subject fired a gun at the victim and his dog and then ran into a hotel room.
Three subjects came out of the room, but the suspect who fired the gun would not come out..
A SWAT team was brought in and eventually, the subject surrendered and faces Aggravated Assualt and numerous drug and weapon charges.

Officers were called to the Red Rock Inn on 12/08/19 at about 9:24 PM for a weapons violation. On scene it was determined that a male subject had fired a gun at the victim and his dog and then ran into one of the hotel rooms. The area rooms were evacuated and contact was attempted with the suspect. Three subjects came out of the room, including an adult female that was arrested and an adult male that was also arrested, but the suspect who fired the gun would not come out. SWAT was called to the scene and eventually the suspect surrendered and was lodged for Aggravated Assault as well as numerous drug and weapons charges. The investigation is still on-going but there is no danger to the public at this time.
