WASHINGTON (KELO.com) — Yesterday morning, Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken told a U.S. Senate subcommittee how good internet connectivity has helped the economy grow and how 5G broadband will further that growth.
He also discussed how Sioux Falls was able to become one of the first city’s in America to get 5G coverage.
TenHaken said besides Verizon and its new towers in downtown Sioux Falls, he’s looking forward to AT&T and T-Mobile setting up towers.
Subcommittee chair Sen. John Thune–from South Dakota–joked that 40 percent of the witnesses were from South Dakota–TenHaken and former FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein from Rapid City.
