Small Business Saturday Back this Year with New Deals and Same Goal
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — One of the most important shopping days of the year is back in Downtown Sioux Falls with exclusive deals and a common goal of supporting locally owned businesses. Small Business Saturday is set for the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 30, 2019. Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc. (DTSF) is joining the nationwide movement to encourage holiday shoppers to shop small and support local communities with Small Business Saturday for the tenth consecutive year. According to a 2018 Small Business Economic Impact Study, for every $1 spent at a small business, 67 cents stays in the community. “You don’t usually see an online or a big corporate name on the backs of the sports teams in the communities. You see small business names on the back of those shirts. So think about that contribution to tying the whole framework of the economy together. Plus [small businesses] providing us wonderful goods and services you can get right here in South Dakota,” said Jaime Wood, U.S. Small Business Administration District Director.Find a list of over 30 special events and deals happening at downtown retailers, restaurants, bars and other specialty shops at https://dtsf.com/event/small-business-saturday/.Sioux Falls Santa will also be visiting businesses in downtown Sioux Falls on Small Business Saturday. Find him at Phillips Avenue, Jones421 Building, and Eastbank businesses from 11:30am – 4:00pm.
