KEYSTONE, S.D. (KELO.com) — The last remaining carver of South Dakota’s most notable landmark has died. Nick Clifford, who at the age of 17 joined a team of 400 men to construct the memorial in 1927 has been the last of the carvers for 12 years. Clifford was 98 years old.
