WATERTOWN, S.D. (KELO.com) — Republican state Rep. Hugh Bartels of Watertown says although the “Meth, We’re on It” campaign has received a lot of negative publicity, he says, the campaign is making its point.
“The choice of words has upset a lot people, but that’s good,” Bartels said. “People are talking about it.”
He says the nearly $1.4 million dollar price tag is needed to make media buys
Bartels says that recently, authorities seized methamphetamine that was brought to South Dakota with the intent of it staying in-state.
He says the amount of meth would have been enough for almost half of the state.
