SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police Chief Matt Burns predicts 2019 will be another record year for meth seizures in the city.
“Those numbers, as far as seizures on the methamphetamine side, are going to be really compelling, even above, way above last year’s record numbers.”
Burns says some of the big hauls are still part of ongoing investigations, so he really can’t talk about them specifically.
Sioux Falls Police seized more than 56 pounds of meth in 2018.
Individual meth arrests have been down in the city this year compared to last, but Chief Burns says that’s really a fluke because the amount of meth busted is way up.
“The amount that we have seized is really going to raise some eyebrows in our community, and, frankly, in the region,” Burns tells Kelo.com News.
