SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The National Weather Service says to expect freezing rain and snow in the region during the morning commute.
The NWS says to anticipate a light glaze of ice south of I-90.

The latest NWS forecast:
- A wintry mix of snow, sleet, and possibly freezing rain will spread across the area during the pre-dawn hours Wednesday. The favored time period for seeing the wintry mix will be between 5 am and noon, including during the morning commute. There is still some uncertainty regarding the exact timing of various precipitation types, but the attached image highlights the most likely area to see sleet and/or freezing rain in purple, while areas in blue are expected to receive primarily light snow (accumulations around a half inch or less). A light glaze of ice is also possible south of I-90, especially in the area highlighted in yellow on the 2nd attached image.
