The playoffs are already underway for the University of Sioux Falls football team. Playoff situations, at least.
The Coo must win its final two regular season games and finish in the Top 7 of the Central Region rankings to reach the Div. II national tournament. Currently, USF (7-2) resides in the No. 8 slot, but a win over the No. 4 team in the nation at home on Saturday, plus a win in next week’s finale, would almost definitely bump the purple into the fold.
Minnesota State-Mankato visits Bob Young Field on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Mavericks (9-0) boast the Northern Sun’s No. 1 scoring offense (46 points per game) and defense (8.6 ppg), while the Cougars carry the second-highest scoring offense (36 ppg) and third-best scoring defense (13.3 ppg).
KWSN will carry the game on 98.1 FM, 1230-AM, KWSN.COM and the FREE KWSN APP. Pregame starts at 12:30.
