SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — An armed man is accused of walking into the GreatLife facility in southern Sioux Falls and forcing someone inside to take him for a ride.
Police say he was driven to a hotel, where he picked up another guy, and then they were driven to a second hotel.
That’s when the kidnap victim took off and called police.
Police found him at the hotel with a drug pipe and meth residue.
Jared Paul Hallstrom, 30, is a registered sex offender.
Hallstrom is charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault and other crimes.
