WASHINGTON, D.C. (KELO.com) — Congressman Dusty Johnson accuses House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of playing politics with prescription drug prices.
South Dakota’s lone U.S. Representative, tells KELO Radio’s Greg Belfrage Show that separate, bipartisan bills aimed at lowering drug prices would be overwhelmingly approved, but.
“Instead of letting them come to the floor on their own, the Speaker packaged them with four Obamacare votes. Things that turned them into a party-line vote very quickly.”
Johnson says Pelosi purposely stuffed the drug bills with poison pills and sent them over to the U.S. Senate, where Mitch McConnell will not touch them.
The House Ways and Means Committee has approved Pelosi drug pricing legislation and a full House vote is expected sometime this month.
Senator John Thune claims that Pelosi’s legislation will lead to price controls.
